Community Service

Students in grades 7-12 are required to complete various acts of community service during their time at Fishers Island School. These acts include, but are not limited to, cleaning up beaches and other wildlife areas, reading to younger students, helping at a local library, and horseshoe crab monitoring. Students who achieve over 100 hours of community service are recognized for their achievements at the school's annual awards night.

High School students are encouraged to do a minimum of 10 service hours per year, but many students do much more!  FIS National Honor Society requires a minimum of 20 service hours per year.
